All over the world people are trying to remain calm and deal accordingly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Spending so much time at home pet owners need to ensure that their pets are safe too. To reduce the spread of the infection, although is considered that the chance of animals carrying the virus is minimal UK GOV advise pet owners to follow some guidelines.
In line with public health guidance, you should:
- wash your hands before and after any contact with your pet, its food and bedding
- not share food with your pet
- avoid contact such as kissing or cuddling if you’re self-isolating
There is no evidence that you need to wash your pets to control the spread of the Corona virus.
Only wash or use products on your pets that are approved for use on animals.
If you are concerned about your pet because it has respiratory or digestive problems and a temperature you should contact your vet who will decide whether testing is required.
Please NOTE We are wearing disposable gloves and masks at all time during our visits to prevent contamination from one pet to another as per APHA advice.
